UPDATE: According to Abbotsford police, Jeffrey Goddard is in custody and will be facing the additional charges. The witness who sighted Goddard was mistaken.
Previous story: Police are asking the public for help in locating a sex offender spotted in the Abbotsford area on Tuesday morning.
Jeffrey Goddard, 24, was seen walking on Old Clayburn Road near Immel Street in Abbotsford at approximately 9:10 a.m. The Abbotsford Police went to the area and conducted a search but were unable to locate Goddard.
Goddard was convicted of a sexual offense in 2011 and is currently wanted for fraud, use of a forged document and voter fraud in a Surrey RCMP investigation from November 2013. He is supposed to be living in Surrey and is still under court ordered conditions that forbid him from accessing the internet and being around people under 18 years of age or areas they may congregate (public parks, schools, community centres, etc.).
Police describe Goddard as 1.75m (5’9″) tall, 68 kilograms (150 lbs) with brown hair, green eyes and glasses. Anyone with information about Goddard is asked to contact the APD or CrimeStoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
