UPDATE: Police say McBride Blvd will not be open to southbound traffic from 6th Ave until approximately 6:30 pm. The detour remains in effect.
A crash involving three vehicles has partially shut down a busy road in New Westminster.
It happened in the 200-block of McBride Blvd and has closed the street to traffic southbound at 6th Ave.
Traffic is being diverted at 6th Ave from McBride Blvd and can still access the Patullo Bridge after a detour.
Northbound traffic on McBride Blvd is not affected.
Police say the closure is expected to be in effect until 4 p.m. The crews are still on scene investigating.
There is major damage to all three cars involved.
One driver was taken to Royal Columbian hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
The cause of the crash remains unknown.
