Conservation Officer Jim Beck says it isn’t normal for coyotes to get so close to humans, which is why he’s had to respond.
“Normally we would cull several coyotes to break the dynamic,” says Beck.
Beck says the pack exhibited aggressive behaviour and was determined to kill the small dog.
The woman received defensive wounds on her hands while trying to protect the dog.
