The emergency room at Burnaby Hospital has re-opened after a flood shut it down early Sunday morning.
Mounties say a man was taken to hospital at around 3 a.m. after ramming several police cruisers in the Lougheed Mall parking lot.
According to police, the man, who they say has mental health issues, ripped out a sprinkler from the ceiling, causing a flood.
Several patients who were being treated had to be moved to a different area of the hospital.
The emergency room was re-opened by 9 a.m., but hospital officials are asking people to go to another hospital if possible as they clean the scene.
However, officials say people with medical emergencies can still access the ER.
The man is now facing several charges.
