Winnipeg Police Service (WPS) officials said on Tuesday they have searched and are patrolling the Allen Physics Laboratory at the University of Manitoba’s Fort Garry campus, following reports of a man armed with a “big knife.” Const. Claude Chancy said they were unable to find the suspect, adding that they don’t believe there is a threat to public safety any longer and that the investigation has been turned over to the major crimes unit.

Winnipeg Police Service (WPS) officials said on Tuesday they have searched and are patrolling the Allen Physics Laboratory at the University of Manitoba’s Fort Garry campus, following reports of a man armed with a “big knife.” Const. Claude Chancy said they were unable to find the suspect, adding that they don’t believe there is a threat to public safety any longer and that the investigation has been turned over to the major crimes unit.
