As many as 55 people have now been confirmed dead in the wildfires which tore through sacred Hawaiian land on the island of Maui. Officials reported progress in battling the blazes, saying the Lahaina fire — one of the deadliest in U.S. history — is mostly contained with six wildfires burning on Maui and the Big Island.
