In our top story: More people in Alberta have been forced to leave their homes as evacuation orders expand and the heat dome over the province continues to fuel the ongoing wildfires. One province over in B.C., record-breaking heat has some concerned about wildfires, flooding and heat-related illnesses. In Germany, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy met with Chancellor Olaf Scholz, who announced the biggest aid package to Ukraine since the invasion by Russia began. In Turkey, it’s still too close to call but the presidential election appears likely to head to a runoff. Interpol has issued an international appeal for information in nearly two dozen unsolved murders. Then, we look at why health experts say breast cancer screening should happen earlier starting at the age of 40. And in Quebec, residents are calling on the government to intervene in an ongoing labour disruption that’s left the country’s biggest cemetery closed for about five months.
