Why avian flu spread has some experts cautioning need for human vaccine

Avian flu has been circling the globe for more than a year, with Canada’s own spread occurring since late 2021. While it’s highly infectious to bird populations, the risk to the general population remains low. But as Katherine Ward reports, the way the virus is behaving — including its spread to other animals — has experts saying it may be time to produce a vaccine for humans.
