Ukrainians fighting for their territory, ‘democracy itself’: Anand

Canada’s Defence Minister Anita Anand told a press conference on Friday that Ukrainians aren’t just fighting the war with Russia for their own sovereign territory, but they’re fighting for “democracy itself,” and “for us.” Anand praised Ukrainians for fighting “valiantly” against the Russian invasion. She made these remarks on the one-year mark of the war’s start.
