Health officials and advocates say a residential detox and addiction treatment facility in our region could be the missing link to form a well-rounded approach to substance use.
On Monday, Peterborough-Kawartha MPP Dave Smith announced a proposal for the centre has been submitted to the province, requesting $1.13 million annually, but additional community funding could be key in whether this project will go ahead.
He joined Noor Ibrahim to expand on what needs to happen next for this project to go forward.
