B.C. launching illicit drug decriminalization trial
Description
January 30, 2023
B.C. is launching a three-year pilot program to decriminalize the possession of small amounts of some illicit drugs, with the goal of reducing the fear and shame associated with drug use that prevents addicts from reaching out for help. Neetu Garcha explains why advocates are split on whether this will help fight the toxic drug crisis.
