Saskatoon Police Service Chief Troy Cooper discussed a report examining criminal justice system diversion. Cooper said Thursday this approach to rehabilitation provides certain offenders, such as those who are non-violent, non-repeat, the opportunity to avoid a criminal record which can effect an individual’s life going forward. Program coordinator Sgt. Erica Weber said she believes the outcome from the program is part of the foundation to improving the community.
