There’s been a significant increase in fire activity in and around Kelowna’s downtown area–the fire department has responded to nearly two dozen fire calls in the past week alone. And while the exact causes aren’t always known, it’s believed the spike is due to the frigid weather and those sheltering outside desperate to keep warm. But there is a little relief on the way for at least some people sleeping outside in the snowy and freezing conditions. Klaudia Van Emmerik reports.
