It was Denis L'Heureux's 45th birthday and he was taking part in a motorcycle ride to raise money for a local animal shelter on Saturday. L'Heureux and the motorcycle group were travelling west on Provincial Road 311 near Steinbach when RCMP say the group of 6 motorcyclists lost control driving though patches of mud on the highway. L'Heureux was pronounced dead at the scene after being thrown from his motorcycle into traffic. Friends remember the father of 3 as "the kindest person with a big heart" and a fun-loving devoted family man.
