Poilievre challenges Liberals on upcoming payroll contribution hikes
Description
September 21, 2022
Conservative Party Leader Pierre Poilievre questioned the Liberal government during Wednesday’s session of question period in the House of Commons, regarding their impending hikes on CPP and EI premiums, claiming it now takes 50 per cent of income to buy a home. Deputy Prime Minister Chrystia Freeland responded that the increases will go toward Canadians' retirement rather than government activities.
