Vancouver council makes side guards mandatory on city owned heavy trucks

Vancouver council has approved making side guards mandatory on city-owned and contracted heavy trucks. This decision comes after 28-year-old Augustin Beltran was tragically killed on June 29 – when he collided with a dump truck in Yaletown while cycling.
