As officials prepare for a possible increase in COVID-19 cases in the fall, Canada’s Chief Medical Officer of Health Dr. Theresa Tam encouraged Canadians to get a booster dose “regardless of the number of booster doses previously received.” She said the more transmissible Omicron subvariants BA.4 and BA.5 are becoming more dominant in Canada, which could lead to a fall and winter COVID wave.
