Expect Toronto road closures this weekend with more than a dozen protests planned: police

Toronto Police Chief James Ramer said on Friday that the public should expect both rolling and static road closures this weekend with an expected 14 different demonstrations within the city. “While the Toronto Police Service will always support peaceful demonstrations, I want to be very clear that we will not tolerate any intimidation, harassment or hate-motivated behaviour aimed at specific communities,” Ramer said. Asked if police are expecting something similar to protests in Ottawa this past winter, the chief says he expects demonstrations will be similar to what the city usually sees during the summer months.
