According to data released by Statistics Canada on Wednesday, the organization’s director of the Centre for Demography Laurent Martel said “slightly more than 100,000 people” identified as transgender or non-binary on the 2021 census. This group represents 0.33 per cent of the Canadian population aged 15 and older.
