Northumberland OPP and Central Region Forensic Identification Services (FIS) are currently investigating an attempted robbery in Colborne.
According to the police, around 5 p.m. Thursday, a masked man entered a King Street business and demanded an employee open the cash register.
The man said he had a gun, but no witnesses saw any weapons.
Security footage shows the incident was short lived, as the man left before the cash register opened.
Officers searched the area but did not find the suspect.
An investigation is ongoing, but police say there is no threat to public safety.
