Ontario’s chief medical officer of health Dr. Kieran Moore said on Monday that PCR testing had been expanded at testing centres for people who had returned from seven southern African nations in response to the Omicron COVID-19 variant. He said with cases being reported in more countries daily, the province is suggesting to the federal government to expand testing to more travellers or target it to more countries seeing a higher proportion of Omicron cases.
