Crown-Indigenous Relations Minister Marc Miller said Wednesday that the expectation of Pope Francis’ visit to Canada is that the “Holy Father present full and complete apology to Indigenous peoples on the territory in Canada.” He said he’d also like to see a “full, complete recognition of the harm caused by the residential schools operated by the Catholic churches, saying it would be a step towards reconciliation.
