Canada election: Singh responds to Trudeau cancelling event due to safety concerns

During a campaign stop in Sudbury, Ont., on Saturday, NDP Leader Jagmeet Singh told reporters that “no one should have to cancel an event because they’re worried about a danger to the safety of people coming out.” Liberal Leader Justin Trudeau cancelled a campaign stop Friday in Bolton, Ont., due to security concerns. The stop was hounded by an unruly group of demonstrators denouncing Trudeau and COVID-19 pandemic policies, but officials have not made it clear what specifically led to the cancellation.
