Facing criticism of a lack of timelines and funding for the national action plan on Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and Girls (MMIWG) and the related federal contribution announced Thursday, Indigenous-Crown Relations Minister Carolyn Bennett said the government was promising to have the implementation plan for the federal “pathway” this year. She also said some timelines and funding were laid out in portions of the 2021 federal budget.
