The Facebook Oversight Board upheld the company’s deactivation of former president Donald Trump’s accounts on the platform and Instagram on Wednesday. His access to the two social media platforms was blocked in January over concerns of further violent unrest after the Jan. 6 storming of the U.S. Capitol by supporters of the former president. The board has said Facebook must review its decision to permanently suspend Trump within the next six months.
