COVID-19: Trudeau says AstraZeneca pause was coordination of experts, says focus is keeping Canadians safe
Description
March 30, 2021
Prime Minister Justin Trudeau said on Tuesday that the work being done on vaccines, including the pause on AstraZeneca vaccines that occurred Monday for those under 55, was due to different levels of experts coming together to ensure there is coordination in messaging. However, Trudeau said he recognizes changes to vaccine delivery can be “challenging” for Canadians. Chief public health officer Dr. Theresa Tam added how the investigation into the concerns regarding AstraZeneca has proceeded and in turn how the decision to pause use of the vaccine was made.
