Canada's chief public health officer Dr. Theresa Tam said on Friday there’s concern that an increase in more transmissible variants of the COVID-19 virus may be threatening the country’s progress in containing the spread of infections. “If we don’t slow down the spread of the variants, 'team vaccine' is at risk of falling behind," she stated.
