WHO says continue to use AstraZeneca vaccine as several countries temporarily pause distribution
Description
March 12, 2021
During a press briefing on Friday, World Health Organization director-general said that the European Medicines Agency (EMA) has indicated no link between the AstraZeneca vaccine and blood clots after several countries temporarily suspended the use of the company’s vaccine based on reports of the formation of blood clots in some people who had been vaccinated. WHO says their own review of the reports is ongoing but recommends that it continues to be used during the investigation.
