Contentious lobster fishing dispute in Nova Scotia
Description
September 18, 2020
A dispute in Nova Scotia over who is entitled to fish for lobster is pitting Indigenous harvesters against commercial fishers, many of whom are of Acadian descent. They all want the same thing, to use plentiful lobster grounds to keep their families financially afloat. But as Ross Lord explains, the conflict is not just contentious, it's turning violent.
