Bains says Trudeau cabinet ‘followed recommendations’ around WE Charity contract

Navdeep Bains, the minister of innovation, science and industry, on Friday sidestepped a question about whether cabinet would have approved a contract with WE Charity had it known members of Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s family had been paid for speaking engagements with the charity, but said the government had “followed recommendations” in approving the contract.
