Should police respond to mental health calls?

WARNING: Disturbing content. Security footage has surfaced of an RCMP officer dragging a young B.C. woman named Mona Wang down a hallway, and later stepping on her head at Wang’s apartment building in Kelowna on January 20. The video is the latest example of a wellness check by police under scrutiny. Abigail Bimman looks at what wellness checks are supposed to be, and whether who responds to them needs to change.
