Asked by NDP Leader Jagmeet Singh whether the federal government would commit to keeping the Canadian Armed Forces in place until there are enough resources to provide adequate care for seniors in long-term care homes, Deputy Prime Minister Chrystia Freeland on Thursday commended the military for their work but said only that their presence “can’t be a long-term solution.”
