Assistant chief Nadya-Lyse Paré with Halifax Regional Fire and Emergency said Saturday that a brush fire burning in the area of Porters Lake, N.S. was not yet “under control,” but that it remained at least a half-kilometre from any home and that crews were on standby in case any homes were threatened.
