Coronavirus outbreak: Toronto health officer says almost half of city’s deaths in retirement, long-term care homes

Toronto chief medical officer of health Dr. Eileen de Villa announced on Monday that there were 1,301 cases of COVID-19 in the city, with 145 people in hospital and 60 in intensive care. She said there have been a total of 32 deaths in Toronto since the outbreak began. Of the deaths, de Villa said 15 were within retirement and long-term care home settings.
