Coronavirus outbreak: Scheer calls on federal government to separate relief bill from other measures

Conservative Leader Andrew Scheer said in an interview with Global News on Tuesday that while the party would vote for financial relief measures in response to the COVID-19 pandemic put forth by the Liberal government, they would not do so if other measures were included like giving cabinet extraordinary powers over taxes and spending. He said if the Liberals separate those powers and other measures included in the bill that were not previously negotiated from the financial relief portion, they would vote in favour and then debate a separate bill on the powers at a later date.
