The Northwest Territories chief health officer, Dr. Kami Kandola, confirmed Saturday the region’s first case of COVID-19, the disease caused by the novel coronavirus, stating that the patient had recently travelled to Alberta and B.C. before returning to the Territories.
Dr. Kandola said she has issued an order for everyone who has returned from travelling anywhere outside the territory to self-isolate for two weeks, with limited exemptions.
