During a live web address to his supporters on Tuesday, Democratic presidential hopeful Bernie Sanders called for an oversight body to be created to ensure no companies would be able to profit off of the economic pain caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, arguing that emergency credit or loans extended to companies as a result of the crisis should come with “strict protections and benefits for workers, unions and customers.”
Sanders further argued that any coronavirus vaccine developed must be made available to those who need it “for free.”
