If you take a Via Rail train today there’s a good chance you’ll be late. Canada’s passenger rail service has been plagued by delays for years, on both long and short distance trips. But in some places, it’s the only transit option outside of flying. VIA Rail itself admits its long distance trips are becoming an international “embarrassment” due to excessive delays.
