Coronavirus outbreak: New presumptive case of COVID-19 confirmed in Canada

Speaking to reporters at Queen’s Park on Monday morning, Ontario’s Chief Medical Officer of Health for Toronto Dr. Eileen de Villa provided a summary on the new presumptive positive case of COVID-19, which is a female adult who traveled to Wuhan City in Hubei province, China.

The individual was given instructions to contact Telehealth information line at the airport and then presented at North York General Hospital where she received a thorough medical assessment.

She is now recovering in isolation at home and being regularly monitored by Toronto Public Health staff.
