Asylum agreement between U.S. and Canada challenged in federal court

Since 2004, the Safe Third Country Agreement with the United States has allowed Canada to turn away asylum seekers at official border crossings if they do not meet certain exemptions. Now it is being challenged in federal court as a violation of charter rights, given concerns the U.S. is no longer a safe harbour for refugees. Jeff Semple reports.
