Working on Sacred Relations, connection to community and the passing on of Indigenous knowledge, the 44th Annual Elders and Traditional Peoples Gathering welcomed visitors and speakers from across North America. Trent University and the First Peoples House of Learning hosted the gathering in the first weekend of November, and also marked the 50th Anniversary of Indigenous Studies at Trent, in fact at the post-secondary level anywhere in Canada. Dawn Lavell-Harvard explains there are many layers of significance in the gathering itself of the Elders, include a dynamic message from the Indigenous youth of 2019.
