This is one of two copies of contested surveillance footage that captures Abdirahman Abdi’s arrest outside his Ottawa apartment building on July 24, 2016, released by the judge in Const. Daniel Montsion’s manslaughter trial. Neither of them are the original footage captured by the CCTV camera in the lobby of 55 Hilda St. This version is a two-minute excerpt of the surveillance footage the defence claims was exported and “slowed down” and “doctored.”
