Ice rushes down Ontario’s Grand River, raising flood risk

The Grand River Conservation Authority issued flood warnings for the Ontario towns including Cambridge and Brantford on Monday, February 5, after mild temperatures melted snow and increased the potential for flooding. Video from Cambridge show chunks of ice rushing down the Grand River. The ice jam, created by the mild temperatures and rain, threatened to cause flooding in the area due to ice partially damming the river and increasing water levels.
