New fears after privacy expert quits Toronto “smart city” project

A bold plan to build a so-called “smart city” in downtown Toronto has hit a big glitch. Google wants to reimagine a derelict part of the waterfront as a cool, new, totally wired neighbourhood, except a high-profile consultant brought in for advice about individual privacy has quit. As Se├ín O’Shea reports, people want to be part of the future, but fear what they have to give up to get there.
