New fears after privacy expert quits Toronto “smart city” project

A bold plan to build a so-called “smart city” in downtown Toronto has hit a big glitch. Google wants to reimagine a derelict part of the waterfront as a cool, new, totally wired neighbourhood, except a high-profile consultant brought in for advice about individual privacy has quit. As Seán O’Shea reports, people want to be part of the future, but fear what they have to give up to get there.
