On Friday, Canadian Foreign Affairs Minister Chrystia Freeland would not confirm if she would consider a NAFTA deal with the U.S. that did not include the continuation of the dairy supply management system. Freeland told reporters she understood their frustrations about not getting specifics but she would not negotiate this NAFTA deal with the United States in public.
