It has become a national movement in support of programs and crisis resources for people with mental illness. In Peterborough, the CMHA’s “Ride Don’t Hide” event on June 24th will help fund the “Four County Crisis Safe Beds” program for the Haliburton, Kawartha, Pine Ridge area. Returning cycler and Board Member Rob Seguin rides in support of his own battle with mental illness and in memory of his brother Christopher who died by suicide in 2016. He speaks to the importance of community engagement in the ride, and the need for the coordinated ‘safe beds’ effort.
