James Strath Public School students launch pollinator garden in Peterborough
Description
June 11, 2018
Grades 2 to 8 students at Peterborough's James Strath Public School spent part of Monday planting a pollinator garden in the community.
Every plant in the garden is a perennial flower that is drought-tolerant, and will self -seed.
They'll also provide food and habitat for pollinators, such as bees, butterflies and birds.
Peterborough Greenup has partnered with Apex and the school to make this project happen. Greenup water programs coordinator Jenn Mccallum, says it's crucial to protect certain species that are losing their habitat.
