Predicting hurricanes can save lives. The more precise the forecast, the better the planning that goes into evacuations, emergency shelters and transportation. But at times, Irma still confounded the experts. And as Eric Sorensen reports, while the United States deals with hurricanes every year, some meteorologists find the European computing models more reliable.
