Ontario set to unveil details of basic income plan

Ontario is expected to announce plans of a pilot project that will give monthly cheques to people living under the poverty line. It’s called basic income and it’s modeled after an experiment in Manitoba in the 1970s. But as Shirlee Engel explains, the idea isn’t without controversy.
